One Car Secured – Could Yours Complete Our NEC Stand?

We’ve got some exciting news — after a summer of waiting on the reserve list, ado16.info has been confirmed for the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC, 7–9 November 2025!

It’s the grand finale of the UK classic car calendar, the event where the entire motoring world comes together under one roof. And we’d love your help to make our stand something really special.

A Car That Truly Offered the Best of Both Worlds

The genius of the ADO16 was always its versatility. On one hand, it was the everyday family car of choice in Austin and Morris form — practical, affordable, and dependable for the school run, shopping trip, or summer holiday. On the other, it was also available in more luxurious guises: MGs with a sporting edge, plush Vanden Plas models with walnut and leather, Wolseleys and Rileys that offered prestige, and the 1300 GT for those wanting extra flair.

In short, the ADO16 could be as modest or as indulgent as your purse allowed — truly the best of both worlds, and a car that appealed across classes and generations.

That’s exactly what we want to showcase at this year’s NEC.

What We’re Looking For

We’re on the hunt for an MG, Wolseley, Riley, Vanden Plas, 1300 GT, or an estate version of the ADO16 to join our display. Having one of these cars alongside our Austin/Morris examples would help us demonstrate just how wide-ranging the ADO16 family was — and how it captured so many hearts, for so many different reasons.

What’s Involved?

If you’re able to lend us your pride and joy, here’s what you can expect:

  • Your car would be needed at the NEC for the full weekend (7–9 November 2025).
  • You’re free to come and go as you please during the event — though we’d love it if you could spend some time with us on the stand, meeting visitors and sharing your car’s story.
  • We’re a relaxed, laid-back bunch — no clipboards or stiff committees here! Our focus is on enjoying the weekend, flying the ADO16 flag, and telling the story of this fantastic piece of motoring history.

What Past Helpers Say

Bringing a car (and yourself!) to the NEC is an experience you won’t forget. Don’t just take our word for it:

“It was such a buzz seeing people stop and share their own memories of the car — you realise how many lives it touched.” – Liz, previous NEC stand helper

“There’s nothing like standing back and seeing your pride and joy in the spotlight — it’s something you never forget.” – Rory, ADO16 owner and stand volunteer

Why Get Involved?

Aside from the joy of seeing your car admired by thousands of enthusiasts, you’ll also be part of a community that’s passionate, welcoming, and just a little bit mischievous. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take pride in making sure the ADO16 gets the attention it deserves.

So, if you’ve got an MG, Wolseley, Riley, Vanden Plas, 1300 GT, or estate version of the ADO16 tucked away, why not let it shine at the NEC? This is your chance to help tell the story, meet fellow enthusiasts, and play your part in showing how the ADO16 truly offered the best of both worlds.

Michael_T-V

Michael’s passion for cars was sparked at a young age, spending countless hours in his dad’s garage, observing the nuts, bolts, and know-how that brought vehicles back to life. That early fascination quickly became a lifelong interest, and over the years, his dedication to the classic car world has only deepened. With a strong preference for British marques, Michael’s collection remained exclusively homegrown up until 2014 — a true celebration of British engineering and design. His meticulous attention to detail and naturally inquisitive nature mean he’s rarely satisfied with the obvious answer. Whether he’s restoring, researching, or rethinking how something works, Michael has a knack for uncovering clever solutions and sharing them with the community. It’s that blend of curiosity, craftsmanship, and commitment that makes Michael such a valuable part of the ado16.info story.
